Jeep Cherokee Replacement Coming in 2025 With Hybrid Power

January 2nd, 2025 by

After discontinuing the Cherokee in 2023, the Jeep lineup was left with the Compass and Renegade as its only compact SUVs. Because the Cherokee was such an integral nameplate to the Jeep brand, it was a bit shocking that it was cancelled with no replacement mentioned.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2024, Jeeps’ CEO Antonio Filosa announced that a compact crossover with a hybrid powertrain will be coming in 2025. Although it has not been confirmed that the vehicle will be called a Cherokee, it was said that it will be its replacement.

We also don’t yet know if it will be a plug-in hybrid or a traditional hybrid that uses regenerative braking and other technologies. The 4xe plug-in model is seen on the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see that Jeep went with this route. However, it may be better received by the public if it was a traditional hybrid.
