You read right, Dodge will be releasing the all-electric Charger Daytona, arriving in dealerships late 2024. The brand’s commitment to leading the electric vehicle game is clear with this new vehicle. As the market’s very first electric muscle car, it aims to outperform traditional gas models where possible. And don’t worry, for those of you who want the standard gas-powered vehicle, Dodge will also be releasing the Charger SixPack in the second half of 2025. Today, we’ll be focusing on the Daytona model, including design, performance, and technology. Jeff Belzer’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is excited to share more information on this revolutionary vehicle.
Design
Exterior
The Dodge Charger Daytona has a starting MSRP of $59,595, with the Scat Pack trim starting at $73,190. The 2-door option will be available in late 2024, while the 4-door option will be available starting early 2025. This vehicle features the standard wide-body design that we have seen on other Chargers and Challengers, with wheels pushed out to maximum width. The hood and front end see a huge update in design. The Daytona is more boxy than previous models and features a slim, rectangular front grille, with smaller headlights. There is a front opening called the R-Wing, which is an aero pass-through designed to minimize drag and maximize performance at top speeds. It also features a brand-new system called the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust. This has not yet been seen in any vehicle and will deliver an iconic roar when accelerating.
Interior and Technology
The interior of the electric Dodge Charger Daytona is simplistic but elegant. You see a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the center to control your music, navigation, climate controls, and more. It is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. There is also a wide screen in front of the driver to display speed, RPM, and other performance stats. Its leather seats and dash give the vehicle a premium feel and the flat top and bottom steering wheel offers a great driving experience by increasing visibility.
A unique feature that is offered is called the Attitude Adjustment Lighting. Depending on your mood, you can adjust the lights along the doors and interior. You have 64 colors to choose from, and they will show when opening a door, starting the vehicle, or choosing a Drive Mode. Drive Modes include Sport, Drag, Track, Drift, and Donut. With the PowerShot feature, you can add an additional 40 horsepower for 15 seconds with the touch of a button.
Both trims have 37.2 inches of rear legroom and cargo space of 22.7 cubic feet. With the rear seats folded down, this is increased to 38.5 cubic feet, which is Best-in-Class. There is also a hidden hatch trunk in the back, which provides even more storage space.

Performance
We see two trim levels with the new Charger Daytona: R/T and Scat Pack. Both trims are AWD and have an 8-year, 80,000-mile powertrain warranty.
The R/T trim will come with a factory-installed, direct connection Stage 1 upgrade.
- 496 horsepower
- 404 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 mph in 4.7 second
The Scat Pack trim includes Track Pack and a factory-installed, direct connection Stage 2 upgrade.
- 670 horsepower
- 627 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds
Both trims have twin 335-horsepower electric motors, a 100-kWh high-voltage battery, and a 400-volt propulsion system. One of the electric motors drives the front wheels while the other drives the rear wheels. This rear motor is designed to minimize slippage during AWD acceleration. The battery is lithium-ion based and is made with the best materials to deliver peak performance.
Enhanced Suspension System
- Multi-Link Front Suspension: promotes traction and strength, providing a better grip on the road
- Integral Link Rear Suspension: enhanced steering and control
- Dual-Valve Adaptive Damping System: available on Scat Pack, enhanced handling for easier ride in rough-road scenarios
Adjustable Regenerative Braking
The Charger Daytona uses regenerative braking to charge its lithium-ion battery when you drive. Using the paddle shifters, you can adjust the level of regenerative braking between:
- 0.1g (industry average)
- 0.2g (increased strength and stopping power)
- 0.3g (maximum strength and abrupt stopping power)
Electric Vehicle Considerations
There are many factors to consider when thinking about an electric vehicle, with range, charging, and tax credits being top of mind. The R/T trim level sees a range of 300 miles, while the Scat Pack sees a more limited range of 260 miles due to elevated performance.
When you purchase a Charger Daytona, you have two options in terms of charging that Dodge will provide complimentary. You can either choose a level 2 at-home charging station or $600 in charging credits. These credits are through the Free2move Charge network, which shows you all charging stations near you on a map. This is a great step by Dodge to make the notion of owning an EV more manageable to consumers.
This vehicle is also eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit when it is leased.
The all-new, all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona is a great blend of performance and design with sustainability in mind. The battery-powered vehicle certainly still packs a punch in terms of horsepower and lb-ft of torque, even outperforming previous model years in some cases.
