Belzer in the Community: May 2024

Summer is here, and we have some exciting events to share with you from the past month as well as an upcoming event hosted at our New Prague location. In May’s Belzer in the Community, you will read about a donation drive, Folds of Honor, and live music at Charlie’s on Prior. Jeff Belzer’s appreciates you reading along so that we can share our story and passion for the community. Let’s get into the happenings of May! 

JP4 Foundation Baseball Glove and Water Drive 

Jeff Belzer’s will be hosting a water and baseball glove drive from Monday, May 27th to Friday, June 7th. This will benefit the JP4 Foundation, whose mission is to enrich the lives of youth in underserved communities. They accomplish this through summer-long camps and the “Diamond Club”, an after-school program designed to create meaningful relationships between students and a young adult mentor. This organization was initially created to honor the life of Johnny Price IV and improve the lives of youth through baseball, the sport that Johnny loved. They have expanded from this initial mission, but baseball is still an important part of their programming. 

Every summer, they go through more than 3,000 bottles of water and are always in need of gently used baseball gloves. Jeff Belzer’s is hosting a donation drive to collect baseball gloves and bottled water. If you are able, we encourage you to drop off these items at any of our locations: Lakeville, New Prague, and Roseville, Minnesota. We truly appreciate your generosity and support of the JP4 Foundation. 

Folds of Honor Golf Tournament 

Folds of Honor is an organization that provides children and spouses of fallen or disabled military and first responders with life changing scholarships. In May, we were honored to be a 5-star title sponsor of the event. Despite the rainy weather, the event was a great success with another record year for funds raised. Through a silent and live auction, over $69,000 was raised for Folds of Honor Minnesota! Thank you to College City Beverage for organizing the tournament, Legends Golf Club for hosting, Folds of Honor Minnesota, and everyone who supported the event. We look forward to next year! 

Charlie’s on Prior LIVE on the Landing 

Love live music? Every Wednesday throughout the summer, Charlie’s on Prior is hosting LIVE on the Landing. Enjoy the beautiful patio, great food and drinks, and of course, the live music. In May, Shane Martin performed his blend of modern country rock music to kick off the summer, and it was an amazing turnout. We gave out our new Surf Sota Jeff Belzer’s hat and other swag items so make sure to stop by our table on your way in. You can expect to see a variety of musicians throughout the summer including country singer Jake Nelson, cover band High 7 Mighty who was named the best horn band in the Twin Cities, piano player and singer Tom Hunter, country rock and blues singer Mark Joseph and many more.  
 

Upcoming Event 

Glenn Walker Youth Fishing Event  

Pro fishermen Glenn Walker will be at our Youth Fishing Day on Wednesday, June 19th. It will take place at our New Prague Ford location (1181 W 280th St, New Prague, MN 56071). He will be giving knot tying lessons, doing casting practice, and a fishing informational. They will even get a tackle box to take home! This is a great summer event for the kids that you won’t want to miss!
