2025 Ram Heavy Duty | Updated Cummins Engine and Design Refresh
The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty pick-ups will see many major updates and improvements compared to the 2024. With a redesigned engine, additional standard safety and comfort features, and more, Ram is stepping up its HD game. Whether you’re towing heavy loads, driving across work sites, or something else, you need a truck that’s reliable. Let’s dive into the key features of the 2025 Ram Heavy Duties.
Performance 
The Ram 2500 and 3500 are both available with either a gas or diesel engine. The gas engine will be a 6.4-liter HEMI V8, which gives you 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The Cummins diesel engine previously seen on the HDs has been redesigned. The high-output 6.7-liter Inline Six Cylinder Cummins Turbo Diesel engine will be available on both the 2500 and the 3500. You’ll see 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with an all-new 8-speed TorqueFlite transmission. The maximum towing capacity is a whopping 36,610 pounds.
Design
The Ram HDs will be available in Regular, Crew or Mega Cab configurations. The mega cab will have a 6’4” bed while the regular cab will have an 8” bed. With the crew cab, you have the option between the two. In terms of exterior redesign, the HDs took see many of the same updates that the light duties did. This includes bold redesigned grilles and front fascia that is specific to trim level. Also new are the updated headlights and taillights, which come standard as LED for all trim levels. You’ll see new wheel designs along with two new exterior colors.
Technology and Safety
Inside the trucks, you’ll now see a huge 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen on the 2025 model year, which is Largest-in-Class. This comes with the Uconnect 5 system. Also available is a 10.25 Passenger Interactive Display, although this is not standard. In front of the driver is a 12.3-inch digital cluster, showing all of your essential information, like speed and RPM. You’ll also see dual wireless charging and a 2.4-kilowatt onboard power inverter.
There are a few new safety features that come standard on every Ram Heavy Duty. These include Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian Detection. On the Big Horn/Lone Star trim, you’ll get ParkSense (front and rear park assist) as standard. Optional features include Traffic Sign Recognition, Drowsy Driver Detection, and Active Lane Management.
