A healthy lifestyle includes staying fit. You can do this by being active daily. When you find fun ways to get the exercise you need, it can make it easier to maintain a fitness routine. During the winter, there are many challenges to being active, especially here in Lakeville, Minnesota, where the temperatures can dip into the single digits or lower. The team at Jeff Bezler Dodge Ram Lakeville has compiled this guide to provide you with some fun fitness ideas to help you meet your fitness goals.

Ice Skate at Lakeville Arenas

Learn to ice skate by signing up for lessons or attending an open skating session at one of the Lakeville Arenas. Ice skating not only takes a lot of energy, but it also helps you gain confidence in yourself and your abilities. Once you get out on the ice, you’ll have so much fun you won’t even realize you’re working out.

It takes a lot of muscle and coordination to ice skate, so it’s a great way to stay fit. Another benefit is that it’s an excellent activity for the whole family, so you don’t have to get healthy on your own. Open skate times vary, as the arenas also host skate lessons and hockey practices throughout the week. Check the schedule to find out when you can go for public skating or sign up for skate lessons to encourage yourself to go regularly.

Hike, Bike, or Cross-Country Ski at Cleary Lake Regional Park

Cleary Lake Regional Park is open year-round, making it the ideal place to go for all your fitness needs. Its abundant hiking and biking trails make it perfect for getting out in the fresh air for your daily exercise. During the winter months, the park opens the golf course to snowshoeing, and you can rent snowshoes if you don’t have your own. If you want your dog to join you on your fitness journey, consider skijoring at the golf course instead of snowshoeing. This fun activity takes cross-country skiing to a whole new level.

Of course, you can cross-country ski on many of the trails found throughout the park, even if you don’t have a dog to pull you along. They also allow fat tire mountain bikes on the golf course trail and other trails in the park during the winter.
